We originate right back to 1972 when Colin and Norah Sangster opened their first retail sports store and from there they moved into a larger retail outlet before starting the manufacturing and wholesale arm of the business in the late 70’s.
In 1985 the retail was sold and the business manufactured mainly for wholesalers supplying retailers and registered as Sangster Industries Ltd.
In the early 90’s the company established itself as a fishing tackle and sporting goods wholesaler in its own right and started trading as Nacsan Products (Norah And Colin SANgster).
In 1997 the company was moved to Taupo in the central North Island and Colin and Norahs son Shawn took over the sales and marketing for Nacsan.
In 2001 Shawn took over the Managing Directors position from Colin.
Over the years Nacsan has expanded its range to include a lot of imported items but still largely remains a New Zealand manufacturer with still over 70% of its turnover coming from New Zealand made product.
Nacsan has now been developing and manufacturing fishing products in New Zealand for over 30 years. |
